John Muir on Tea

If you’re an avid adventurer of national wild lands, you probably know and love John Muir. His sense of exploration, endless thirst for pushing the horizons, and nature-loving quotes are a staple of adventurers everywhere.

What you might not have noticed, though, is that Muir was also a relentless fan of tea enjoyed outdoors, and counted teas as one of his bare minimums for adventure time!

"I rolled up some bread and tea in a pair of blankets with some sugar and a tin cup and set off."

— John Muir

Even with his famously pared down equipment requirements, when he felt the urge to strike out into the backcountry, tea always featured.

"Throw a loaf of bread and a pound of tea in an old sack and jump over the back fence."

— John Muir

Yet another reason Muir is a favorite of ours. If you’re an adventurer who also loves tea in the wilds, let us know! We’d love to hear about it.
